Alabama football lands 2027 commit from Vigor’s Jabarrius Garror

Alabama football pulled an in-state recruiting commitment in the class of 2027 Wednesday, as the Crimson Tide began preseason camp for the 2024 season. Vigor edge Jabarrius Garror announced his pledge to UA, ahead of his sophomore season.

Garror made the announcement on social media, in conjunction with Hayes Fawcett of On3. He chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi State and Colorado among others.

The 6-foot-2, 215 Garror put up eight solo tackles, 12 total, according to Maxpreps. He also chipped in with three sacks and caused a fumble, in three listed games of action.

Class rankings are all but useless at this point in the proceedings, with most services not even showing a ranked list. Alabama now has two prospects in the 2027 class.

The first came on Tuesday, also from in-state. Moody’s Ba’Roc Willis, also an edge, committed to the Crimson Tide the day before Kalen DeBoer’s first preseason camp began.

DeBoer’s current recruiting focus, the class of 2024 is currently ranked second on the 247Sports composite, behind just Ohio State. At SEC Media Days earlier in July, he mentioned the Tide’s staff as a reason for his early success on the recruiting trail.

“I knew it was important for me to put the right people around me,” DeBoer said as part of his answer. “As much as I can preach relationships and getting to know guys and feel like there’s a way that I can get guys to feel that this is a program they want to be a part of, I understand that there’s got to be familiarity with a region.”
