Alabama storms flood streets, down power across state


Thunderstorms dumped heavy rain across parts of Alabama Sunday evening.

Several parts of Jefferson, Shelby and Tuscaloosa counties reported flash flooding in streets and creeks.

Scattered power outages were reported Sunday across the state, with about 10,000 people affected.

Reports came in of trees down and flooded streets in Cahaba Heights in Jefferson County.

A flash flood warning remains in effect until 7:45 p.m. for Jefferson and Shelby counties, according to the National Weather Service.
