A 15-year-old boy is in custody in the Montgomery shooting death of a 12-year-old girl.
The teen suspect is charged with capital murder. He was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held in the Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility.
The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, in the 4100 block of Keating Drive.
The 12-year-old victim was taken to a Montgomery hospital and later transferred to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. She was pronounced dead on June 7.
The child’s name has not been released by police, nor have details of the fatal shooting.
