A suspect is behind bars after a man was found in a pool of blood in east Alabama Saturday night.
Calhoun County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched about 8:30 p.m. to the 400 block of Church Street in Hobson City, said Sheriff Matthew Wade.
The victim was found in the road with a stab wound to the chest.
A deputy rendered aid to the man until Oxford EMS arrived. He was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with life-threatening injuries.
Wade said deputies found a witness that identified Oshae Dontrell Ball, 31, as the suspect. A lookout bulletin was issued, and Oxford police officers later took him into custody.
B.O.L.O. was issued for Ball and a short time later Oxford Police located and detained Ball.
Ball was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault. He remains held on a $20,000 cash bond.
