WWE Hall of Famer hospitalized in Georgia

WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher, whose real name is Larry Shreve, has been in a Georgia hospital for almost a week, according to PWInsider.com.

According to the report, the 83-year-old former wrestler has been dealing with an intestinal issue.

Wrestling Inc. reports the legend was slated to appear at an upcoming North Carolina event, but his appearance is now in question. Per the report, Abdullah stated in 2023 that he felt like he was in great shape for his age, despite hip replacement. His goal was to get back in the ring to have a retirement match.

Shreve told Click on Detroit last year that he is broke.

He said the reason was a $2.3 million lawsuit. Shreve blamed his inability to read or write for the loss, saying that he didn’t know he was being summoned to court. The lawsuit, which was filed by Devin Nicholson, claimed that Shreve gave Nicholson Hepatitis C during a match and cost him a contract with the WWE.
