In an online poll of AL.com readers, Hazel Green’s Leah Brooks was voted the state high school girls Athlete of the Year.
Brooks received 69 percent of the votes while Jasper Missy Odom had 10 percent, St. Paul’s Janie Ford got eight percent, Hewitt-Trussville’s Sara Phillips received seven percent and Spring Garden’s Ace Austin had five percent.
