Albertville man arrested for manslaughter after shooting



ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities say an Albertville man was arrested after a deadly shooting over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the Albertville Police Department said Colton Dozier was charged with manslaughter after officers found victim Daniel Long.

Officers were sent to a home on Oneonta Cut-off Road in the early afternoon on Saturday, June 15 regarding a man who had been shot. APD said on the scene, officers met Dozier and after a conversation, he was taken into custody.

They found Long suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest at the scene, according to the spokesperson. Two women and children were also found at the address.

Long was taken to Marshall Medical Center South where he succumbed to his injuries.

Dozier was taken to the Albertville City Jail and charged with manslaughter. He is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
