Birmingham was record hot for a second straight day, according to the National Weather Service.
The Magic City had a high temperature of 101 degrees on Tuesday, which was hot enough to tie the record for June 25, last reached in 1931.
It was triple-digit hot across much of the rest of the state as well, but no records were broken.
Here are some high temperatures from Tuesday from the weather service:
* Anniston: 98 degrees (record 100 in 2016)
* Huntsville: 100 degrees (record 103 in 1914)
* Mobile: 98 degrees (record 100 in 1914)
* Montgomery: 100 degrees (record 102 in 1914)
* Muscle Shoals: 101 degrees (record 106 in 1914)
* Troy: 101 degrees (record 107 in 1914)
* Tuscaloosa: 101 degrees (record 103 in 2012)
The Alabama heat wave is expected to continue on Wednesday, with mid- to upper 90s again possible in parts of the state (see tomorrow’s forecast at the top of this post).
However, the National Weather Service is expecting to see more rain on Wednesday, which could help a few spots stay a little “cooler.”
In fact, isolated severe storms will be possible in the northwest part of the state.

More above-average temperatures are expected in Alabama starting this weekend, according to forecasters.
