This is an opinion cartoon.
Alabama’s bass-ackward politicians are always a step ahead of America’s demise. Leading the way backwards is what we do here in this environmentally beautiful, absolutely friendly but politically oppressive deep red state.
Alabama people – southerners in general – are good people. Nobody’s friendlier or quicker to help their neighbors – or a stranger – fix a flat tire or bury a body than the folks down here.
It’s perplexing to me that Alabama, its politicians mostly, has no appetite for inclusiveness. The more the merrier works at parties, but not so much in politics.

DEI – diversity, equity and inclusion – is what most our people practice every day, whether they know it or not. Why is it such a politically divisive issue?

It’s a sign of things to come from an insecure and out of touch Republican party held hostage by a wanna-be dictator with little patience for adversity. Or diversity.
Gonna be a wild ride, y’all. Hang on to your perversity.
