HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The heat and humidity have been persistent across the Southeast this week with many recording high temperatures well into the 90s.
During June, Huntsville has come close to reaching 100 degrees for a high temperature four times but fell short.

Thanks to the hot and humid air mass in place, Huntsville saw a high temperature rise to 100 degrees for the first time this year! This is the first time Huntsville reached 100 degrees since July 5, 2022!
Will the heat continue?

A cold front passage Wednesday will lead to temperatures falling into the low 90s Thursday, but this will be short-lived.
The heat dome over the Southwest will slowly begin to expand back eastward by the weekend. This will support hotter and more humid air to flow into the region. The heat dome will prevent the hot and humid air from rising keeping it trapped at the surface.

High temperatures will quickly warm from the low 90s on Thursday back into the mid to upper 90s on Friday! With a humid air mass still in place, it will feel more like 100 to 105 degrees.
