LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities say a man was injured in a domestic violence shooting Sunday morning.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said around 4:58 a.m., a Limestone County Sheriff’s Investigator responded to a shooting near Cannon Road and Daveen Dr.
When LCSO deputies arrived, they found a man in a nearby field who had a gunshot wound in his leg.
Deputies provided him with medical attention and ‘rendered emergency life-saving measures’ by applying a tourniquet to stabilize the victim before he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
LCSO said investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence situation.
The sheriff’s office said the offender was apprehended without incident and authorities confirmed there was no ongoing threat to the public.
