Man charged with impersonating federal agent during home break in



MERDIANVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after they say he broke into a home and pretended to be a federal agent.

A spokesperson with MCSO told News 19 that a homeowner in Merdianville confronted a man who had broken into their garage. At this time, the man claimed to be a federal agent and left the house on foot.

MCSO said the man was found near HWY 231 and Merdianville Bottom Road. They identified him as Cameron Gottlieb.

Gottlieb was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and impersonating a law enforcement officer. He is being held at the Madison County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
