
MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — A Madison man was arrested and charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, according to police.
At the beginning of June, the Madison Police Department began an investigation into a man who had allegedly been contacting a minor. They had received the tip from the Decatur Police Department.
Following an investigation, Madison Police got a warrant for 24-year-old Treyveon Putman of Madison, and he was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Mississippi on June 20.
Putman was extradited to Madison and booked into the Madison County Jail on June 26.
He is charged with second-degree statutory rape, second-degree sodomy with a girl – strong arm and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is currently being held on a total of $25,000 bond.
