HUNTSVILLE Ala. (WHNT) — Singing River Trail (SRT) has announced who its interim executive director will be after its former one was arrested earlier this week.
The non-profit announced Friday that Anna Clem will serve as its interim executive director to replace John Franklin Kvach after he officially resigned on Tuesday.
SRT said Clem has served as associate director since 2022. The organization said she brings a strong operational and administrative background as well as a core understanding of the group’s mission.
Clem said she is grateful for the appointment.
“I am grateful to serve as the Interim Executive Director during this transition period,” she said. “I am committed to working alongside our board and staff to continue our mission and vision of regional collaboration and creating a sense of belonging and opportunity for people throughout North Alabama.”
Board Chair Jared Mitchem said Clem’s deep experience is a benefit to the organization.
“Anna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, allowing Singing River Trial to sustain its positive impact on residents, entrepreneurs, and communities across North Alabama’s eight counties,” he said. “Anna has the full confidence of the SRT Board of Directors. Her deep understanding of our organization, existing relationships with partners and stakeholders, passion for excellence, and commitment to connecting North Alabama make her uniquely qualified to lead us forward.”
SRT announced earlier this week that they would be beginning the process of Kvach’s separation from the organization, saying “the alleged behavior is unacceptable and reprehensible.”
The organization said the board of directors will begin a formal search for Singing River Trail’s next executive director in the coming weeks.
