
TONEY, Ala. (WHNT) — Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue announced that the team was awarded a grant for advanced gas detection equipment.
Because of the grant Toney VFD received, they will acquire three Sensit Gold G2 gas detection instruments.
These instruments will enhance the safety and service capabilities of the department. It will also enable the department to better protect the community from potential gas leaks.
President of Toney VFD Heath Jones said, “The Toney VFD is committed to expanding on the level pf services that we provide to our community. Our district continues to receive new natural gas services and until now, we did not have the appropriate equipment to detect a leak. This grant will allow us to ensure the safety of our residents and respond more effectively to emergencies.”
The Sensit Gold G2 instruments will allow Toney VFD to quickly and accurately detect the presence of natural gas, enabling timely intervention and reducing the risk of hazardous situations.
